Movie House Cinemas are set to give our hardworking teachers the VIP treatment with the introduction of a new accolade at the annual Danske Bank Blackboard Awards ceremony.

The special Movie House VIP Award will go to a teacher who goes the extra mile every day to transform young lives.
“We all know that there is no more important person in a child’s life than a supportive teacher,” says Movie House founder Michael McAdam. “Now with this award, the public has a chance to recognise a teacher who is not only a VIP to their pupils but who also deserves the VIP treatment for their outstanding commitment to the education of our youth.”

And in an additional treat for our classroom champs, Movie House is pledging two Movie House VIP Seat tickets for each of our exceptional educationalists.

Now in their ninth year, the Danske Bank Blackboard Awards are the only citywide event celebrating the standout contribution of our teachers to communities across the city.
This year’s celebration spotlighting 40 teachers will take place on Friday 6 March in the E3 campus on the Springfield Road courtesy of our venue sponsors Belfast MET.

With nominations for the Danske Bank Blackboard Awards closing on Friday 31st January, 39 of the honorees — who hail from schools and colleges in every corner of Belfast and from every sector — will be named next week. However, nominations for the Movie House VIP Award will remain open until the end of February.
