Movie House Cinemas won two prestigious awards at a ceremony held in the Radisson Edwardian Mayfair Hotel in London last week.

Managing Director Michael McAdam collected the award for Independent Cinema of the Year - Ireland at the RAAM Awards, organised as part of the annual Conference for UK and international film distributors and cinema exhibition operators.

PR consultant Teri Kelly was presented with the Universal Pictures Achievement in Marketing Award for key projects that boosted cinema attendance.

Speaking after the award ceremony, Mr McAdam said: "It's a great honour for us to be named Independent Cinema of the Year. We have worked very hard to give our customers the best cinematic experience while keeping ticket prices down. The renovation of our Dublin Road cinema and the completion of our cinema at the Jet Centre in Coleraine has helped us develop our brand. "

Movie House has grown steadily since it was founded in 1990 with the first cinema in Glengormley. It now has five cinemas including the flagship city centre site at Dublin Road.
